Technical Overview

Magellan's Phase Jitter Modulation (PJM) Protocol combines very high communication data rates with Frequency and Time Division Multiple Access (FTDMA) anti-collision capabilities. The protocol and command set allows users to identify, read and write to a large quantity of tags continuously entering and leaving the reader field at high speeds.

Thus the PJM protocol is the only existing RFID protocol capable of full dynamic processing of RFID tagged items. Other protocols need to identify all tags before they can read or write to individual tags, which is especially unstable in dynamically changing tag populations. Only PJM can efficiently use on-chip tag memory in reading and writing without losing necessary performance.

PJM offers tremendous margins in its anti-collision speeds, anti-collision capability and data rates. Furthermore only PJM offers a stackable RFID tag (PJM StackTag®) which can be stacked with zero separation, even in hundreds.

  Performance

  Features

Magellan's readers and tags are perfectly matched and achieve the highest system performance in the worldwide RFID industry. Due to the robustness of the PJM technology this performance can be implemented and demonstrated any time.

Such high performance offers sufficient margin and is mandatory for achieving 6-sigma installations and system performance. All performance values are measured on standard readers and tags using a MARS-24 and PJM StackTag® labels.
